There are several helpful tips on the EnergyStar.gov website about energy audits. These range from do-it-yourself to local utility companies offering free audits to comprehensive reviews done by professional energy auditors for a fee. More information can be found on the website at http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=home_improvement.hm_improvement_audits. Contact your local utility company to inquire about energy audits and local rebates for making energy improvements.
