Kentucky Couple Wins Extreme Retrofit Sweepstakes
Taylorsville, KY (April 27, 2011)–David and Susan Heath of Taylorsville, Kentucky were the lucky winners drawn at random in the Cellulose Insulation Extreme Retrofit Sweepstakes that attracted several thousand visitors to www.cellulose.org and the sweepstakes contest. The couple will enjoy an upgrade to cellulose insulation in their home and reap the benefit for years to come with lower energy bills.
“I was surfing on the web when I came across the Retrofit Sweepstakes and jumped on it, “says David Heath. “I was not real familiar with the product but have a friend in Ohio whose house has cellulose insulation and he swears by it so we are really excited about winning.”
The Heath’s home is over 3,000 square feet and about six years old. Their heating bills hit a high during the recent cold winter at over $360 a month. According to Heath, they are looking forward to the prospect of lower costs after the retrofit is completed.
CIMA producer member Cell-Pak will be managing the project. Cell-Pak General Manager David Parr and Kentucky Plant Manager Russell Buckman met with the Heaths at their home in late April along with Bob Eipert of Bremen Energy Auditors who completed a blower door test. Jerry Robinson of Robinson Insulation will be doing the retrofit work to install cellulose insulation in the home.
“David and Susan are really excited about winning and we are looking forward to helping them improve their home,“said Parr. “I know they will be pleased not only with the savings on their energy costs but also the quieter environment inside their home after cellulose insulation is added.”
The Heaths have agreed to share information about their pre and post retrofit energy bills to allow CIMA to track the results. CIMA will be posting information about the retrofit in the weeks and months to come at its blog site The Greenest of the Green.Log in and become a subscriber to receive email notices when new posts are made and follow along.
